Skautfold: Into the Fray is a top-down action shooter that is part of the Skautfold series. It follows the installments Usurper and Shrouded in Sanity, but prior knowledge of the series is not necessary for a full experience. The story takes place in 1899 in an alternative history of Portland Island off the south coast of England. As Hito, one of the Empire's knights, you set out to the island to investigate the disappearance of a nobleman and the presence of a rebel faction called the Sons of Washington. Soon, however, you find yourself in the midst of a conflict with rebels who have made a pact with cosmic entities.

The game offers a clear map of the island with a series of missions. You'll explore the island's streets, damp cave systems, and a secret network of underground tunnels. The streets are filled with corpses and infested with ancient entities, while in the tunnels, terrifying rituals take place, strengthening the influence of the mysterious Mists.

At your disposal is an arsenal of devastating cutting-edge firearms, from hand cannons to triple-barreled shotguns, including weapon prototypes from Nikola Tesla himself. The game emphasizes gore and interaction with the environment - you can destroy almost anything, use oil barrels as traps, or avoid enemy hazards. Constant bloodshed and post-combat debris will fully immerse you in a world full of violence.
