Nintendo is looking for the best Mario Kart 8 Deluxe players in the first ever Mario Kart 8 Deluxe European Championship! It all kicks off with the first qualifier this Saturday, August 19. The 24 fastest European racers (8 from each qualifier) will battle it out in the grand final, which is scheduled for early October in Frankfurt am Main. It is here that the European champion will be crowned!
To participate, players must subscribe to Nintendo Switch Online. Online Play, Tournaments, Search by Code, and then enter the tournament code directly in the game. During the qualifying events, competitors will earn points based on their placings, with the top 8 finishers qualifying for the Europe-wide championship culmination at the end of the event. Qualification will take place at the following times:
- Saturday 19 August, 16:00-20:00, tournament code: 0980-1145-8091
- Friday, September 8, 5:00pm-9:00pm, tournament code 3959-7481-4251
- Sunday, September 17, 3pm-7pm, tournament code 3626-8881-7707
Those who qualify for the finals will meet in the German town of Bad Vilbel, just outside Frankfurt am Main, on the weekend of 7 and 8 October, where the culmination of the entire Mario Kart 8 Deluxe European Championship will take place at the VILCO venue. Fans will be able to bid for free tickets, and of course there will be live streams for all spectators. More information to come in the future.
