Are you ready for another space adventure with Starship Mario? Relive your memories of meeting Rosalina and the Lumas, and experience meeting Yoshi again, or embark on saving the galaxies from Bowser for the very first time! Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 are now available for Nintendo Switch (the titles are also playable on the Nintendo Switch 2 console).
These classic gravity-defying adventures now offer enhanced graphics on both consoles and some content changes – get ready to discover completely new game chapters within the so-called Storybooks, where you will learn more about Rosalina and the Lumas.
Together with sharper graphics and additional story background, these games from the Wii era also offer a new mode in which you can play the soundtrack, including newly added tracks. Assist Mode will offer less experienced players more health and the option of automatic saving.
There will be several control options to choose from: button, stick, or motion, which take on the properties of the Joy-Con and Joy-Con 2 controllers from the original Wii versions. Jump, slide, swing, explore, and collect Power Stars and power-ups to temporarily gain the ability to fly or hover.
A free update for Nintendo Switch 2 will add 4K resolution support* for both games. Both games are released in one physical package, or each of them is available separately on the Nintendo eShop.
There will also be two amiibo figures available next year. Mario & Luma will provide you with a Life Mushroom upon scanning, while Rosalina & Lumas will provide a 1-Up Mushroom. The figures will be on sale from April 2nd next year.
An illustrated hardcover book, Rosalina’s Storybook, containing original illustrations and a story from the game Super Mario Galaxy**, will also be released. Further details will be announced in the future.
